Sarah Faux

Oliver2_2012_018Sarah Faux is a native of Oregon, and has been teaching piano in the Portland area for 10 years.  She began studying piano at the age of 5.

Sarah was featured twice with the Corvallis Youth Symphony, performing Saint-Saen’s “Carnival of the Animals” and Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”. She earned her Bachelors of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied composition with Elinor Armer. Sarah received her Masters of Science Teaching in Music from Portland State where she also worked as a graduate teaching assistant, helping with group piano classes and accompanying. She is a member of the Oregon Music Teachers Association.

Sarah has accompanied various groups in Portland, including the Portland Lesbian Choir, and Cantores in Ecclesia’s Childrens Choir. Sarah currently works as a dance accompanist at the Classical Ballet Academy in Sellwood. She maintains a private piano studio in the Montavilla neighborhood of Portland. Sarah has been the staff pianist for Cathedral Park Music since 2011.
